Jordan Grasso, Ph.D., is a Research Data Analyst at the Williams Institute. Their research focuses on criminalization, state power, policing, and alternative approaches to safety, particularly within LGBTQ+ communities. Experienced in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, Jordan has worked as an interviewer, ethnographer, and data analyst. Before joining the Williams Institute, they contributed to the first nationally representative survey and interview-based research project on police-LGBTQ+ relations and taught in the California State University and University of California systems. Jordan holds a Ph.D. in Criminology, Law, and Society with emphases in Feminist Studies and Law, Society, and Culture from the University of California, Irvine, and an M.A. in Sociological Practice from California State University San Marcos.
