Ishani Chokshi

Law Fellow

Ishani Chokshi is a Renberg Fellow at the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law and a Master’s Student at the California Institute of the Arts. Her research focuses on establishing a creative unity between Western and non-Western legal philosophies through a womanist and androgynous artistic practice. She is an artist and a lawyer who wages art upon Law. She is the founder of the Northwestern Law Journal des Refusés. Prior to the fellowship, she interned at various non-profits across the country, including running non-partisan voter registration campaigns in Jacksonville, Florida, working cases at an immigration clinic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and providing legal assistance at a criminal justice clinic in Chicago. She received a J.D. from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and a B.A. in Visual Arts from Brown University.
