Alexandra-Grissell Gomez is a graduate student in the Women’s Studies program at San Diego State University and is broadly interested in the intersections of higher education policy, reproductive justice, and mental health. Prior to working at the Williams Institute, Alex was involved in various research projects centering social issues such as violence against women, anti-racist community organizing, and community-engaged education. Most recently, she received the Activist-Research Fellowship with the Bread and Roses Center at San Diego State University for a collaborative project with Mothers of Color in Academia (MOCA) de UCLA investigating and advocating for transformative higher education policies that support student-parents of color. Alex is a community college transfer student from Cerritos College and received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University Long Beach.
