Economics & Poverty

Social and legal exclusion of LGBT people creates economic hardships for individuals and can negatively affect the economy. We study rates of poverty and other indicators of economic insecurity, such as employment, wages, and housing, among LGBT people. We also examine the economic impacts of LGBT-related policies.
