Although the legal rights of LGBT people have improved in the past couple of decades, discrimination against LGBT people remains widespread. On October 8, 2019, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear three cases about whether the federal statute that prohibits sex discrimination in employment covers discrimination related to someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity. These hugely important cases will determine the rights of all LGBT people in the United States to be free from harassment and discrimination at work, and will likely affect education, health care, housing, and other settings. Come discuss these cases with leading experts and learn about what can be done to ensure LGBT people’s equality and free expression.
