Rabbi Barbara Zacky was born in Los Angeles, California. She attended San Diego State University in San Diego, California where she earned her B.A. in Physical Education and Health. While working, she continued her education earning her M.B.A. in general business at National University in San Diego, California. After dedicating many years working for various manufacturing firms in California and Arizona she returned back to Los Angeles where she cared for her mother. While caring for her mother she understood her purpose in life and pursued her studies at the Academy for Jewish Religion, California and received Rabbinic Ordination and earned her Masters in Rabbinic Studies emphasizing in pastoral care. She continues to provide spiritual care to families and individuals as well as advocates for social justice.
