Demographics and Health Outcomes in a U.S. Probability Sample of Transgender Parents

Using data from the U.S. Transgender Population Health Survey (TransPop), this study examines the quality of life and mental and physical health of transgender and cisgender parents.

Highlights
There were no differences in health outcomes between transgender and cisgender parents.
Transgender people overall experience more psychological distress and are less happy and satisfied with their lives than cisgender people.
Transgender parents were older than transgender non-parents, but younger than cisgender parents.
