The Williams Institute Welcomes 2013 Visiting Scholar Abbie Goldberg


Abbie Goldberg an expert on LGBT-parent families over the life course. She is the author of Gay Dads: Transitions to Adoptive Fatherhood (2012) and Lesbian and Gay Parents and their Children: Research on the Family Life Cycle (2009), which received the 2010 Distinguished Book Award from Division 44 of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Goldberg’s research has been funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the Spencer Foundation, the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and the American Psychological Foundation. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Wesleyan University and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, and completed her clinical internship at the Yale University School of Medicine.
