Jody Herman receives Certificate of Recognition from California State Senate
Jody Herman received a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Senate in April 2015 for her work as chair of the Health Policy Track at the 2015 National Transgender Health Summit, held in Oakland.
The 2015 National Transgender Health Summit was sponsored by the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health and is the premier national conference on transgender health. The Summit presents cutting edge research and evidence-based educational sessions crossing many disciplines. The Summit’s educational sessions featured four tracks: clinical, mental health, research, and the health policy institute. Dr. Herman served as chair of the health policy institute with Sari Reisner, Harvey Makadon, Jamison Green, and Cecilia Chung. The Health Policy Institute featured sessions on models of care for transgender health, increasing access to health insurance coverage, insurance billing and coding for transition-related care, and data collection to improve transgender health. Dr. Herman received the Certificate of Recognition from the California Senate at the Summit reception on April 17, 2015. The Certificate was signed by Mark Leno, Senator, 11th District.
