Sexual violence against men and boys in Syria and Turkey

Conflict-related sexual violence against women, girls, men and boys has characterized the armed conflict in Syria. As a part of All Survivors Project’s ongoing investigation of sexual violence against men and boys, 66 key informants from Syria were interviewed.
According to accounts, sexual violence against men and boys primarily takes place in Syrian government detention. Additionally, sexual violence against men and boys occurs while fleeing to Turkey as well as in refugee camps, orphanages, public spaces, and at home.
The report concludes with eight recommendations for Syria, three recommendations for the Turkish government and organizations working in Turkey, and four general recommendations.
