The Financial Impact of Domestic Partner Benefits in New Hampshire

This report estimates the financial effects of offering domestic partner benefits to employees of the State of New Hampshire.  Providing domestic partner benefits to State of New Hampshire employees’ domestic partners will have several financial effects on the state.  We find that health care costs for the State and local employers would increase by a small amount, and some of the added cost to the State will be offset by lower spending on Medicaid and uncompensated health care, and lower training and recruitment costs.
