1:00        LGBT Rights & The Trump Administration

As we near the end of Trump’s first 100 days in office, what is the impact on LGBT rights?  Panelists will discuss issues such as the repeal of protections for transgender students and a proposal for a broad religious exemption to non-discrimination protections, the impact of a new justice on the Supreme Court, and the increased number of anti-LGBT bills in states across the country.

2:30       Changing the Landscape on Gender Identity Data Collection

Never in history have we had so much data about transgender and other gender minority people in the United States.  Panelists will discuss new data from the United States Transgender Survey (USTS), the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS), and other large surveys.    This will be the first time that new CHIS data on gender identity and expression among people in California are presented – a project that we, with the support of our UniTy donors, have been working toward for the last two years.

4:00       Final Round of the 13th Annual Moot Court Competition

Join us as teams from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and UCLA School of Law compete in the final round, after preliminary rounds involving 30 different law schools. The teams will debate the constitutionality of an HB2-styled state law that attempts to strip local governments of their ability to prohibit discrimination against LGB people.
