About: Transgender and gender non-conforming individuals are in the forefront of many legal struggles.  Though still underrepresented, their visibility in the legal community is increasing, not only as victims and clients but also as attorneys, advocates, policy makers, and judges.  A basic knowledge of trans identities and how to respect them is thus indispensable to legal professionals.

Facilitated by Rocco “Katastrophe” Kayiatos is an artist, entertainer, activist and educator. He is the co-creator of Original Plumbing, the world’s first trans male quarterly magazine dedicated to showing the multidimensional lives of men who happen to be transgender. He facilitates workshops around the country focusing on trans identities and how to make campuses more hospitable for transgender and gender variant students.

Cosponsored by UCLA Law Office of the Dean of Students , OUTLaw, and the UCLA LGBT Resource Center
