Babak Kapanpour, Development and Events Coordinator
Babak Kapanpour is the Development and Events Coordinator for the Williams Institute. In this role, Babak manages and provides logistical, as well as administrative support, for the Institute’s fundraising, education and development events in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., New York City and other cities. He is also responsible for the Institute’s Annual Update Gala and Awards Reception, speaker series, and other legal and public education events.
Prior to joining the Williams Institute, Babak spent seven years in the world of human resources. At his previous position, he focused on employee development and enrichment programs as an HR Generalist for a non-profit charter school system that targeted at-risk youth. He was responsible for up to 500 employees that served up to 10,000 students statewide.
He is a volunteer at his community teen center’s theatre program. He has also been fundraising and participating in AIDS Walk LA since 2007.
Babak earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Behavior, with a minor in Education, at UC Irvine. He also earned his master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Alliant International University in Los Angeles.
