Williams Institute Moot Court Finalists Will Compete in April

Greg Vose and Alyssa O’Gallagher of Harvard Law School (Team 20) and Blair Bowie, Price Felker, and David Freenock of the University of Pennsylvania Law School (Team 31) will advance to the final round of the 12th Annual Williams Institute Moot Court Competition.

The final round will be held at the 15th Annual Update on Friday, April 8, 2016 at UCLA Law.

Twenty-nine teams competed in four preliminary rounds on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at UCLA Law in the only national competition dedicated to sexual orientation and gender identity law. This year’s problem addresses the president’s authority to issue an executive order requiring federal contractors to engage in affirmative outreach steps to increase employment of LGBT people.

Mia Kim of SMU Dedman School of Law (Team 16) won the Best Oral Advocate Award. Ana Buling and Walter Hawes of the Georgetown University Law Center (Team 18) won the Best Written Brief Award.
