The Census Scientific Advisory Committee (CSAC) was established by the Secretary of Commerce as an advisory body to the Director of the U.S. Census Bureau. As a Federal Advisory Committee, CSAC composes recommendations on major programs, such as the decennial census of population and housing, the agriculture and economic censuses, current demographic and economic statistics programs, survey research, and marketing analysis.
