Mississippi – Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Law and Documentation of Discrimination
September 2009
This report documents public sector employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in Mississippi. The report is part of a 15 chapter study that documents a widespread and persistent pattern of unconstitutional discrimination by state governments against LGBT people. This study will support Congress in exercising its authority under Section 5 of the 14th amendment to provide a private right of action for damages under ENDA to state government employees who have suffered discrimination.
