3:30 p.m. to 5:00  p.m. EDT

About:
What’s the role of sexual identity in HIV prevention?  Since the late 1980s, “MSM” or “men that have sex with men,” has been a category used to describe gay men and other men that might engage in sex with other men, but not identify as gay. The term has since raised questions on race, culture, community, the impact of the category upon public health prevention efforts, to how the “MSM” category reinforces stigmatization and social exclusion of gay and bisexual men.

Panelists:
Chris Bartlett, Community Activist & Executive Director, The William Way Community Center
•  Louis Graham, Ph.D, W.K. Kellogg Postdoctoral Health Scholar at the University of Michigan School of Public Health
Ilan H. Meyer, Ph.D, Senior Scholar for Public Policy, Williams Institute for Sexual Orientation Law and Public Policy at UCLA School of Law
